Aster Alpinus
Alpine Aster is a low-growing flowering plant. The flowers are bluish-purple or pink with a yellow center. They have a vague daisy-like appearance. They enjoy full sun or partial shade and do well in the cold climate of Alaska.
They grow 8-12" tall and less so if in the shade. They are rabbit and deer resistant and make for great side of the road coverage or rock garden flora.
Although the plant is found throughout Alaska it thrives in cold climates throughout the globe. It can also be found in China, the Alps and northern Europe. This little plant provides a great addition to the beautiful landscape of the wildflowers in the summers of Alaska.
