From the image of a half-man, half-animal creature, to a set of intensely peering eyes looking straight through you--petroglyphs have been surfacing across the globe for thousands of years. These mysterious designs have been puzzling the minds of men for over a century and arousing fascination.
The Petroglyph Beach State Historic Park in Wrangell Alaska features native expressions of art through the various engravings. Many have traveled to Alaska in hopes of discovering their origin but have yet to succeed in their search. Regardless, visitors still enjoy coming here as they comb the beach in search of over 40 different petroglyphs.
One theory is Petroglyphs could simply be showing us the way people viewed the world at the time in which they lived. However, our questions may remain unanswered for the time being.
