Her Story: She traveled to Alaska during the Gold Rush seeking fame and fortune. She was denied entry by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and made her way to Whitehorse where she started work as a tap dancer. Eventually in Dawson City she joined the Savoy Theatrical Company and her show became extremely popular among miners. She gained the nickname Klondike Kate. She didn't make money mining Gold but she certainly gained a small fortune and fame during the Gold Rush.
