A Yute Commuter Service Cessna 207 airplane caught fire near Bethel Alaska on November 20th. No one was injured in the incident. The plane and the luggage was lost in the flames.
It was about 10 minutes into the flight when the pilot realized there was a problem. Smoke made its way into the cockpit. The pilot circled back to the Bethel airport and landed safely. Alaska department of transportation put the fire out on the runway.
It is thought the fire is related to the contents of the aircraft. The passengers and the pilot were taken to the local hospital to make sure they were safe and healthy after the incident. An investigation into the cause of the fire was opened by the National Transportation Safety Board.
